"We Watch Out For Each Other" |
The Saugus Police Department invites citizens to participate, in cooperation with our department, to help in the reduction of criminal activity in your neighborhood. With our combined efforts, the Neighborhood Watch Program will succeed to forge a stronger bond among residents, improve relations between the Saugus Police Department and the community, and ultimately improve the safety of our neighborhoods.

What is a Neighborhood Watch Group?
A Neighborhood Watch group is an organized group of citizens devoted to crime prevention within a neighborhood. Concerned individuals are provided with strategies to assist in the detection and prevention of criminal activity to themselves and their surroundings. Each citizen will also be advised to contact their appointed Block Captain as a means to allow for better networking and communication between their neighborhood and the Saugus Police Dept.
Neighborhood watch groups are not vigilante organizations. When suspicion of criminal activities arises, members are encouraged not to intervene, but to contact the Police at (781)233-1740 or for emergencies, dial 9-1-1.

When do we meet and who can attend?
The Saugus Police Dept hosts the Neighborhood Watch meetings as an Open Forum for all Saugus citizens to participate in voicing their comments, concerns or to ask questions regarding quality of life and crime issues that may affect their everyday life. These meetings are generally held once a month in the Saugus Police Department’s Training Room, located on the 2nd floor of the Public Safety Building, 27 Hamilton St.
The Neighborhood Watch Program is making enhancements that will increase communication between Saugus citizens and the police department. Join us to learn how to provide information to promote safer neighborhoods. You will gain insight toward many safety issues affecting you simply by attending monthly meetings.
Please join your neighbors Thursday, October 27 at 6:30pm on the 2nd floor of the Public Safety Building at 27 Hamilton Street, to discuss concerns and happenings in your neighborhood and around town. Your attendance is strongly encouraged to build a network of Saugus citizens strengthening crime prevention and safety.
We strongly urge you to attend this meeting to hear more about how you can benefit from this program. There is no obligation or commitment being asked of you....just communication.
Any questions about the program, please email neighborhoodwatchsaugus@yahoo.com or join us on Facebook under "SAUGUS Neighborhood Watch".
